Funding
It may be possible to obtain funding towards the capital cost of your DACHS installation or refurbishment and expansion of your existing scheme. In the UK, funding is currently limited to public sector projects and there are two schemes running:-
- Energy Saving Trust’s Community Energy Programme
The Community Energy Programme offers funding of up to 40% of the capital cost associated with a community heating scheme.
Grants are also available providing up to 50% funding towards the development work associated with a community heating scheme. The grant could help cover the costs of Option Appraisal, Business Planning and the Preparation of Tender Documentation.

- Energy Efficiency Commitments (EEC)
The Energy Efficiency Commitments (EEC) scheme is critical to the UK Government’s aims for improving energy efficiency within low income households. This includes multi-occupancy properties such as extra care schemes, residential homes for the elderly and sheltered accommodation. Under the scheme, energy suppliers contribute an amount per customer towards funding energy efficiency measures, helping to tackle issues such as affordable warmth and fuel poverty. The level of funding depends on the energy supplier and the amount of carbon savings offered by the project.
