Applications - Overview

Due to the relatively low outputs and small footprint of the DACHS, the benefits of CHP can now be offered to owners and operators of much smaller properties than the traditional users of CHP. The DACHS is suitable for a wide range of residential and light commercial applications providing there is the simultaneous need for heating and electricity over extended operating periods. There is also the need for a 3-phase electrical connection at the property to support operation of the DACHS.

In residential applications the DACHS is particularly well suited to multi-occupancy accommodation served by centralised heating and hot water systems.

Single or multiple DACHS units (up to ten) can be installed in a master and slave configuration, offering greater operational flexibility and increased overall reliability.

The following types of properties are examples of where the DACHS could be used:-
  • Residential homes for the elderly
  • Extra care schemes
  • Sheltered accommodation
  • University student accommodation
  • Hospitals
  • Leisure centres
  • Hotels
  • Schools
  • Luxury houses
For applications in the public sector, funding may be available to support the capital cost of your DACHS installation. Our Funding section provides further information.

It is not possible to list all potential uses for the DACHS. If you have an application in mind, please Contact Us for further discussion and advice.
